April Stepzilla Challenge
April 1st - April 30th, 2024
Earn digital badges and get in as many steps as you can during the month of April. Each day there's a new badge to earn and a new step goal. The more badges you get and the more steps you accumulate, the higher you'll climb the leaderboard.
Plus, earn weekly bonus Milestone Badges by getting in consecutive days of 5,000 steps or more. Get in 5,000 steps or more for ALL 30 days and earn the Champions Badge!
All of your daily steps count! Get credit for every step you take, including walking, jogging, running, hiking, dancing, walking around the office, etc. You can automatically sync your daily steps to the leaderboard when you use a GPS device like Garmin, Fitbit and Apple Watch. You can also manually upload your steps using data from your smartphone or a wearable device such as a pedometer.
NOTE: The challenge is free and limited to the first 300 participants. As a free event we won't be offering any swag.
All tracking of your steps and the LIVE Leaderboard will be on the virtual platform, Sodisp.com. After you register for the event on Race Roster you'll receive an invite to the free event on Sodisp. Keep an eye out for the email as we get closer to April 1st.
Live Leaderboard and Step Challenge Badges:
1) Tracking and live leaderboard will be hosted on Sodisp. The leaderboard will be based on earning the Daily Step Goal Badges. The more Daily Step Goal Badges you earn the higher your ranking. If two participants have both earned the same number of Daily Step Goal Badges, then the participant with the higher number of overall steps will be ranked higher.
2) How to earn the Milestone and Champion Badges: Milestone Badges are awarded for streaking together consecutive days of 5,000 steps or more. Milestone Badges will be awarded on days 7, 14, 21 and 28. Streak together ALL 30 days with 5,000 or more steps and you'll earn the Champions Badge!!

FAQs
Is this an Individual or Team Challenge?
This is an INDIVIDUAL challenge. You can create a team or group to affiliate with (see below), but all steps totals are counted individually.
I already signed up, but I didn’t affiliate my entry to a group, club or team. Can I still create or join a group, club or team?
Yes! To create a group, club or team, go to the Race Roster registration and click on the “Create a Team” link on the side menu. It will open up the create a team webpage. From the Team Type dropdown, select the “Individual - Group, club or Team.” Enter in a team name. Once you’ve created a group, club or team, go to your "Athlete Dashboard" on Race Roster (sign in) and look for the "Join A Team” button.
I want to register and associate my entry to the group that my friend created. How do I do that?
During the registration process it will ask if you want to affiliate your entry to a group, club or team. Click on the “Join a group, club or team" and from the dropdown menu find the name of the team you want to join.
How do we log our step counts?
You can log your steps by either manually entering in your daily number of steps or by syncing a GPS enabled watch or app on your phone. Sodisp currently supports Garmin, Fitbit, Polar, Coros and Suunto. To manually enter in a result or sync your GPS device you'll first need to verify your registration to the Sodisp Virtual event page. Detailed instructions for joining the event will be emailed to all participants. As the workouts get logged, the Sodisp Leaderboard will be updated and you’ll be able to see your accumulated progress.
Will we be able to sync our Garmin, Fitbit or other GPS device?
Yes! You can easily sync your Garmin, Fitbit, Coros, Polar and Suunto account to your Sodisp profile. Detailed instructions for how to connect your device to Sodisp will be emailed to all participants.
Can we start logging our steps before April 1st?
No, the virtual challenge will start on April 1st. You can log steps anytime between 4/1 at 12:00am to 4/30 at 11:59 pm (your local time).
What type of workouts count towards my steps total?
Workouts such as walking, jogging, running, hiking, dancing, etc. count towards your steps total. Even mowing the lawn, raking leaves, grocery shopping, vacuuming, cooking dinner, taking the trash out, etc. count towards your step total.
I wear a Fitbit all day long and it records the steps when I’m walking around the office and at home. Can I count these steps towards my goal?
Yes.
Is there a minimum number of steps per day?
No, there is no minimum, but if you want to earn the Daily Step Goal Badge you must get in at least the goal number of steps for that day.
I just signed up, will we be getting an update with additional details?
Yes, we will be emailing out an Athlete Update with the details for how to create and verify your Sodisp account.
