My Story…
Welcome to my fundraising page for Barkapalooza 2024! This year I would like to highlight the work West Suburban Humane Society has done with dogs like Alfie, pictured above. Alfie was adopted but began to display some reactivity with people and other dogs in his new home and his adopters realized that their home was not the best fit for Alfie, so they returned him to us. With the information from his adopters about his behavior in a home, we were able to send Alfie to in-home training, where they were able to work with Alfie on his specific issues. This training for Alfie, and other dogs with issues that might make it harder for them to find homes, is a key component of our basic philosophy of providing next-level care for the animals of West Suburban Humane Society.
Barkapalooza is our biggest fundraiser of the year, so I would really appreciate you considering making a donation to my page. Any amount is greatly appreciated and will directly support the care of our cats and dogs.
Description
The West Suburban Humane Society (WSHS) is a private, volunteer-based, animal welfare organization that was founded in 1972 and is 100% funded by individuals, our business partners and private grants. Since our inception we have found forever homes for more than 31,000 animals, and strive to be a community resource for all pet owners.
We want to save as many lives as we can but we need your help! Our adoption fee does not cover the testing, de-worming, vaccinations, spay/neutering and microchipping WSHS provides these pets, not to mention food, litter, pee pads and other supplies our animals need!
Just $25 will microchip 5 animals
$50 will feed all the animals in our shelter one meal
$100 will cover the cost to spay or neuter one animal
$250 will contribute to the medical care for one of our animals needing extra care
$500 will cover the cost of one animal in our shelter
