The mission of Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) of Nashville is to “keep families close” by providing essential resources and a home-away-from-home for families of critically ill children receiving inpatient or outpatient medical care at Nashville area hospitals.

Open since July 1991, the Ronald McDonald House is a home-away-from-home centrally located to Nashville area hospitals. The Nashville Ronald McDonald House has 36 bedrooms, and is staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, providing hot meals, laundry facilities and a place for families with critically ill children to rest. It has all the benefits of a home, such as a playroom, library and two kitchens. More importantly, the Ronald McDonald House provides an environment of emotional support from staff, volunteers and other families who are going through similar circumstances. Since opening, over 16,125 families from all of Tennessee’s 95 counties, 66 counties in Kentucky, as well as 42 other states, two U.S. territories and 14 foreign countries, have called our House “home.”

Opening in 2004, the Family Room extends our special brand of hospitality to the fifth floor of the Hospital and makes RMHC services available for any Davidson County resident with a child being treated at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital. To date, more than 434,000 individuals have been served in the Family Room.

Programs of Ronald McDonald House Charities are 100% funded through the generous support of our extended community.
