My Story…
I was diagnosed in June 2023 and made the decision to have a lumpectomy to remove 2 tumors and 3 lymph nodes (one of which was also positive) and had surgery in September 2023. After I healed from surgery, next step was the treatment plan, my oncologist recommended chemo, radiation & hormone therapy. After doing my research and reviewing the statistics I chose not to do chemo but had 19 sessions of radiation. My last one was the Friday before Christmas. I am now on medication to suppress estrogen & progesterone based on my type of tumor and will be in medical menopause for 5-7 years. I'm so grateful for the amazing people that have supported me through all of this, it's not a path I ever thought I would be on but it has led me to learn more about myself and to try my best to be of service and I am now volunteering with Hope Lives and doing what I can to help other women.
