In November 2024, 21 Bay View High School students are travelling to Costa Rica on a service learning trip where they will work with locals to improve their environment through activities such as removing invasive species and reforestation. In addition to this meaningful service, the group will experience cultural immersion, as they will be living near the communities they will be serving and will practice the customs and traditions of Costa Rica. Throughout their eight days, they will participate in leadership development that will expand and enhance skills transferable to their local communities.
The cost for such an amazing opportunity is approximately $84,000 for the group.
There will be a kids, youth, 5km and 10km walk/run.
Free child care will be provided during this event by the students.
Please bring your own water bottle. You will be able to refill half way and at the end of the run.
The Youth, 5km and 10km will take place on the Beechville Lakeside Timberlea (BLT) trail. The trail is not closed for this event. Be aware of other users such as walkers, runners, bikers, and ATV.
This is a dog friendly race. Please keep your dog on a leash.
Unique environmentally friendly medal for all participants!
Race kits are to be picked up at the Bedford Running Room on Friday, April 19 between 5-7pm.
