My Story…
Sakihiwewin means “love for everyone” and “charity” in Cree.
I am grateful to work for CASA Mental Health, a nonprofit organization that prioritizes reconciliation by working with Indigenous partners and communities to provide culturally-informed, holistic mental health care for children, youth and families. CASA offers staff the day off from regular work on Sept. 30, National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, to learn, unlearn and experience alongside our community. This year, it is really important to me to take action and work towards reconciliation, which I why I chose to participate in this event.
