My Story…
The Mayor's Youth Employment and Education Program (MYEEP) and the Japanese Community Youth Council (JCYC) have been serving the youth of San Francisco for 30+ years. As a Black San Francisco Native, a former SFUSD Educator, and former MYEEP participant, I understand the challenges that young people face when looking towards the future. As a young person in an expensive ever changing city, with very little few spaces available, I remember having a lack of funds made a lot of possibilities seem out of reach. For students to meet their goals and be successful in whatever they choose, resources and chances need to available to them. After being hired by JCYC last year, I have continued to devote my work and commitment to providing opportunities and educational support to young people. I also had the honor of being a part of the Scholarship Committee this year, and seeing young people of all ages reap the benefits of these scholarships has truly been rewarding. The Aloha Run is a fundraiser dedicated to insuring the futures of students, by helping JCYC provide scholarships for youth participants. Help me do it for the kids and reach my goal of $200 to go towards their dreams. Please consider donating, Thank you!
