My Story…
Our Story:
On December 24th, 2017, following a relatively uneventful pregnancy, Tamara gave birth to twin girls at 34 weeks pregnant (this a relatively normal pregnancy length for twins). Emma was born first, followed by Holly six minutes later. They were hospitalized in the NICU for three weeks (for being premature) before we brought them home. When they had been home for one week, on an ordinary but dreary January day, Emma died suddenly, unexpectedly and traumatically. She was exactly one month old and had no known health issues. To say this was the worst thing to ever happen to us is the understatement of the century. No parents should know thee pain that is losing a child. There wasn’t much around back then as far as fundraisers so here we are doing this for the first time in 2024. We are not OK. Don’t make the mistake. I’m thinking we are. But what we have come to learn is that it’s OK to not be OK, and Joy and purpose can grow alongside with your grief.
