My Story…
It’s been one year since I welcomed my new hip – the one I call “Audrey Hipburn” – and we are taking on the challenge of meeting a goal I set after surgery: walking a 5K event in 2024!
Last fall, I was doing laps around our cul-de-sac with a walker. Despite some long-term post-op complications, Audrey and I now manage a ~2.5-mile walk every morning and even some short “bonus” walks in the afternoon (the new Starbucks at Ohlone College provides a convenient target destination 👍).
This walk is not just a personal milestone for me—it’s also an opportunity to raise money for a local nonprofit I’ve volunteered with since its start in the late ’90s: The HERS Breast Cancer Foundation.
Audrey and I are ready to hit the trail and make every step count. I’m walking to support the fighters, honor the survivors, and celebrate resilience – of other people and my own!
Your generous donation will go directly toward funding the essential products and services that HERS provides, including personal fittings for post-op bras, wigs and scarves to help those with hair loss, lymphedema compression garments, and more.
Help me reach my fundraising goal and make a difference in the lives of those fighting against breast cancer. Every dollar helps HERS provide patients with Hope, Empowerment, Renewal, and Support.
Thank you for being a part of my journey (along with Audrey) and supporting this important cause!
Donate to help Lisa raise money for HERS 25th Annual Breast Cancer Walk/Run/Yoga Fundraiser and Community Expo’s fundraising campaign.
