Our story…
This is Willie.
He is a 92 lb sheepdog mix that was brought to Pawsitive Match through a Canadian Animal Task Force event in April 2023.
When a dog is surrendered or picked up from the community at an event like CATF, you never really know what you’re going to get.
For us we got a giant goofball riddled with anxiety. He was scared of vehicles on walks, car rides, and small rooms (just to name a few).
While he does great in our home with just us, he is extremely triggered by “strangers” coming in. He does eventually warm up to people after multiple consistent visits, but it takes a while to earn his trust.
Whether it is past-trauma or breed specific traits (or both), it has been a long year filled with behavioral veterinarian visits, anti-anxiety medication, training sessions, and just his regular upkeep of food, vaccinations and other supplies.
Without Pawsitive Match or fundraising like this, we can’t give dogs like Willie a second chance at a life he deserves!
