October is pregnancy and infant loss awareness month! I will be running the Angel Dash in October.

Some of the people reading this know of my experiences with pregnancy loss. Some people may not. Some may have heard through other people and some have personally listened and supported me during times where my experiences were affecting my life in ways difficult to put into words.

Through the hardships have also been the blessings of building on existing relationships, and also establishing new relationships with inspiring, loving, beautiful people who have also experienced pregnancy and infant loss. None of us are alone.

There are always reminders of who I never got to meet. I have learned it is okay to be changed when touched by this very personal type of loss. I have learned that I can feel sad about the past while also experiencing so much joy at being able to marvel at my radiant, smiley, 1-year-old daughter.

I am running not only for myself, but also for the brave women who have shared their stories of loss with me— either in private, or completely out there sharing with whoever will listen. These include family members, friends, ladies I have met in pregnancy loss groups through Rachel’s Gift, and ladies I have met in new moms groups. I also want to represent women who don’t feel they can share their stories of loss.

This organization provides support to those who find themselves needing guidance and a helping hand through a complicated grief process. Grateful for Rachel’s Gift!
