South Shore Conservatory is a nonprofit community music school with a mission to provide access to exceptional arts education and performance for Boston's South Shore community, fostering creativity, artistic growth, and well-being for individuals of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities. With campuses in Hingham and Duxbury and over 50 community partnerships throughout the South Shore, SSC’s programs provide a creative path for a lifetime of accessible learning, from childhood through adulthood.



SSC is the largest community music school in Massachusetts. Our Community Engagement program began in 1999 in order to provide opportunities experience the healing powers of the arts regardless of financial, geographic, developmental, or physical barriers. SSC affirms its access mission through collaborations with schools, community centers, and other organizations throughout the South Shore. 



Through community programming, we serve hundreds of individuals with autism per year. SSC’s flagship partnership program, ImagineARTS, provides arts-integrated literacy learning to over 400 pre-k students in underserved communities such as Brockton annually. Many of these students have IEPS and require special services. SSC’s adult learning programs and events engage adults of all abilities in hands-on music making and wellness programming.
