Theodore and I were recently diagnosed with a rare genetic disease called X-linked Adrenoleukodystrophy (XALD), which can affect the brain, spinal cord, and adrenal glands. Theodore is currently asymptomatic; however, when and how symptoms present themselves are very unpredictable and vary between males and females, with it being much worse in young males. 

There is no cure for ALD, but there are some treatment options, including stem cell transplant for childhood cerebral ALD. This fundraiser will help fund research at the University of Minnesota, which is home to one of the few ALD centers in the world. Your donation will help advance treatments (and maybe even a cure) for ALD. Thank you for your donation!
