My Story…
You never know if it’ll happen to you. In Oct 2022, I developed shortness of breath & a cough that disrupted my daily life. These symptoms got worse when I laid down too. Unaware that these are classic signs of congestive heart failure, I thought I had a lung issue. Over the next few months of appointments & doctor visits The pulmonologist told me I have Valley Fever. Great we can treat that. Well, my cardiac scans told a different story. The cardiologist said I was in severe CHF and needed a heart transplant. Imagine the shock! I was a runner, healthy, ate right, got all my checkups…but silently my heart was weak & failing fast.
Long story short on 3/23/23 I received a precious gift from a total stranger. The gift of a new heart! Without their gift I would not be here. I will be forever grateful to my donor and donor family. The choice to be an organ donor takes only a minute but truely is the gift of life.
Your donation helps support donor recipients and their families for whatever they may need. It also helps bring awareness & education to organ donation.
Thank you from the bottom of my healthy new heart!
