WELCOME TO THE 9RUNRUN VOLUNTEER PAGE!
On October 19th, 2024 9runrun - The Emergency Services Run will need volunteers to help make this year’s event the best one yet! We can’t do it without you!
When you register, you will be able to choose the area and times you’d like to volunteer in. This is an ideal opportunity for high school students 14 years and older to fulfill their Community Involvement Activities required for Ontario Secondary School Diplomas.
Shifts are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Volunteer Opportunities
Baggage Check
Assist participants with checking their bags prior to beginning their race.
Race Kit Pick-up/Recovery
Race Kit Pick-up is the first point of contact with the participants. Runners come in and collect their race bib and t-shirt. Volunteers will also assist in post-race recovery in handing out food to finishers.
Course Marshals
Marshall the different high traffic areas of the course and cheer on runners as they go by! Please note you will have to walk or bicycle to your post on the route.
Finish Line
Celebrate with the participants as they finish their race! You will begin your shift by unwrapping medals, put them on racks and then be ready to greet runners at the finish line. Be the one that gets to give accomplished runners their shiny medal!
Water Stations
Handing out water cups to passing by or stopped participants. Volunteers will be expected to walk or bicycle to their post. All station equipment will be dropped off and picked up.
