My Story…
I'm walking again this year because I see every day in my job at the YMCA what an INCREDIBLE difference YMCA GTA camps can have in kids' lives, and also for their families.
About half of our young day campers receive financial assistance from donors that allow them to attend camp.
Our donors' support means thousands of kids every year have a lot of fun at camp, build new skills, make new friends, develop an appreciation of nature, encounter new people including young adult role models (their very well-trained counsellors), and grow and develop in many important ways.
At the same time, our donors' support is a lifeline for parents who otherwise may have nowhere else they can afford to send their children while they are at work in the summer. Financial assistance for our camps help parents to keep their families strong and do the best for their kids.

I’m participating in this year’s YMCA Charity 5K because I believe every child deserves the magic of camp—making friends, exploring the outdoors, and creating lifelong memories. This year, the YMCA aims to send 600 kids to camp—100 more than last year! Will you help me reach my goal and give a child this incredible experience? Every donation makes a difference.
