My Story…
My name is Guillaume Mariani, and I arrived in Canada in March 2025. After joining the YMCA’s Next Stop Canada program, I am excited to take part in my very first race. I’m running the YMCA Charity 5K to give more kids the chance to discover the magic of camp, making friends, exploring nature, and creating memories that last a lifetime.
My fundraising goal is $250. For every milestone of $50 reached, I will increase my running pace by 15 seconds per kilometer.
I will start with a pace of 5 minutes 30 seconds per kilometer, and as the donations increase, my pace will gradually get faster. If I reach the full goal, I should achieve a final pace of 4 minutes 15 seconds per kilometer.
Remember, every dollar raised goes directly to helping children experience camp who otherwise couldn’t!
Description
I’m participating in this year’s YMCA Charity 5K because I believe every child deserves the magic of camp—making friends, exploring the outdoors, and creating lifelong memories. This year, the YMCA aims to send 600 kids to camp—100 more than last year! Will you help me reach my goal and give a child this incredible experience? Every donation makes a difference.
