Volunteer details
Set-up
Time: Friday the 4th October, starting at 2pm
Duty description:
- Assist with the set-up of race registration stall to be ready by 3:30
- Course marking from 3:30 pm – 5:30 pm
Number of people needed: 10 people
Location: Rokeby Hall and 10 km Course
On course vets/ vet nurses:
Time: Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th October, during the race
Duty description:
- For qualified vets/ vet nurses to apply basic first aid to dogs during the Saturday or Sunday
- Check the health of the dog and make a call to remove the dog from course based on medical judgement.
Number of people needed: 4 people
Location: Rokeby Hall and 10 km Course
Aid station:
Time: Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th October, during the race
Duty description:
- Help set-up pop-up marquees, tables, water, nutrition for dogs and humans.
- Create paw-sitive paw-esome vibes and cheer on the athletes and dogs. Pack-down and return gear to the event village with the help of our support crew.
- Pack down of the aid station each day. Secure it for the night on Saturday

Number of people needed: 4-6 people, that can be rotated if you can only stay for a short stint.
Marshalling
Time: Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th October, during the race
Duty description:
- Make sure the athletes and dogs know where to go and are ok!
Location:
- Rokeby carpark
- Rail trail
- Pilgrims creek road
Number of people needed: 1 per location on both days
Sweeps
Time: Saturday and Sunday during the race
Duty description:
You'll walk behind the last person on course and make sure everyone reaches the finish line safely. You will need to be capable of running this distance in this terrain and carry all mandatory gear throughout. The distances:
- 2 km
- 10 km
- 20 km
- 50km
Location:
- On course at Rokeby
Number of people needed: 2 people per distance
Race registrations/ bib collection
Time: Friday 3:30 – 5:30 pm, Saturday 6:30-9:30 am and 11 am- 1pm, Sunday 6:30 – 8:30 am
Duty description:
- Welcome athletes and their dogs, Sign in runners and dogs, check mandatory gear, give race bibs and answer any questions.
- Sell merchandise
- Give dogs traffic light bandanas. If dog is anxious they get yellow, if dog cannot be close to another dog without being super stimulated or nippy then a red bandana, green bandana for easy going dogs.
Location:
- Rokeby Hub
Number of people needed: 2 people on race registration and 2 people on mandatory gear check in.
Time: Friday 3:30 – 5:30 pm, Saturday 6:30-9:30 am and 11 am- 1pm, Sunday 6:30 – 8:30 am
Finish line
Time: Saturday 10:15 am to 1:30 pm, Sunday 10 am to 4 pm.
Duty description:
- Cheer on the runners and their dogs as they come through the finish line give out medals to dogs and humans.
Location:
- Rokeby Hub
Number of people needed: 1-2 people per day
Time: Saturday 10:15 am to 1:30 pm, Sunday 10 am to 4 pm.
Pack up – Shut down
Time: Sunday from 5 pm
Duty description:
- Assist with the pack down of the race hub
- Course demarking with the sweeps from 4 pm.
- Final course check and demarking from 5:30pm – will need some people to ensure the trail is clear of rubbish and markers.
