My Story…
Hello everyone, my name is Stephanie and I am currently 19 years old. I am willing to do this because I used to wake up really early, tie on my running shoes, and wonder if I could even finish a mile. My lungs burned, every step felt heavy, and doubt crept in: Maybe I’m not cut out for this. But I showed up anyway. I kept putting one foot in front of the other, through wind, rain, and tired muscles, because I believed something inside me was changing. Running along the Treasure Coast, watching the sunrise, feeling the ocean breeze—it became more than exercise. It became proof that I can push past pain, past fear, past what I once thought was impossible.
Today, at the starting line of this 5K, I carry all those early runs with me. I run not to compete with others but to prove to myself I can grow stronger, more resilient. Every mile is a victory over my hesitation, every breath a reminder that I’m capable of more than I used to believe. When I cross that finish line, I hope I’m happy.
