Help Stephanie raise money

This summer, I’m lacing up my running shoes and heading to the windswept beauty of Prince Edward Island — the land of Anne of Green Gables, a place I’ve always dreamed of visiting. But this isn’t just any run. I’m joining Run with Rob, a heartfelt campaign organized by CMV Canada to raise awareness and funds for congenital CMV (cytomegalovirus), a condition that affects thousands of babies every year — yet is still far too unknown.

For the past three years, I’ve worked in Medical Affairs at a vaccine company focused on CMV. Through that role, I’ve had the chance to meet and collaborate with advocates and healthcare professionals who care deeply about this cause. I’ve learned how underrecognized CMV is, despite being the most common infectious cause of birth defects. I’ve seen the impact it has on families. And I’ve seen how much work is still needed — in awareness, prevention, and support.

This run is my way of giving back. It’s a chance to support the advocates who’ve inspired me, to raise funds for a cause I care deeply about, and to help push CMV into the spotlight where it belongs.
