My Story…
My name is Adriana Castillo. I am originally from Mexico City. I married a Fresno native and I have been living in California for over 26 years. In January 2015 I had kidney failure due to hereditary Polycystic Kidney Disease. I had to do at home peritoneal dialysis 4-5 times a day for almost 9 years. During most of this time I signed up to become a Donate Life Ambassador volunteer and kept working as a teacher in High School. Dialysis took a toll on my body and I experienced other issues, the major one in 2022 being a drop in my heart function which took my name off the active kidney transplant waiting list. It was a very difficult situation to overcome. By God's Amazing Grace, I kept trusting and hoping for a miracle and went on with life working as a teacher, now in Adult Education. In May of 2023, by the grace of God, my heart function improved and I was placed back on the transplant list. My Amazing Grace miracle of life came from a 49 year old woman on December 3rd, 2023,
