My Story…
I have been a volunteer at West Suburban Humane Society since 2015, but this is my first time participating in the 5k "Rescue Run" at their biggest event of the year, Barkapalooza! Over the decade that I have volunteered at WSHS, I have had the privilege of helping to care for hundreds of dogs as they awaited their forever homes. I even adopted two wonderful dogs myself, WSHS Alumni Blackberry (adopted in April of 2019) and Sally (adopted in May of 2022). Now named Shadow and Luna, these dogs are truly my pride and joy and I am so grateful to WSHS for bringing them both into my life!
