My Story…
My first Run for the Water was in 2007. I worked for Keller Williams and since they were a sponsor, we were encouraged to register. Then I told my husband about it and he agreed to come the next year. Once I read Gilbert's book and heard Gilbert's story, and shared it with my dad, he decided to run it too. A tradition was born, and we did it together until 2011 when my dad passed away from a sudden heart attack.
My mom, Daniel and I all decided not to let the tradition end, and as our family has grown, our commitment to Run for the Water has remained. It's a reminder of what we are capable of, it connects with my values of Health, Growth, and Impact. What Gilbert has done in Burundi is incredible! If all of us did just a little to help people out, our world would be more connected and compassionate.

By donating to the Gazelle Foundation's Run For The Water you become part of an incredible support team for families in Burundi who need clean water.
The Gazelle Foundation knows that clean water is the key to life. But no one knows this better than the people of Burundi. For more than 11 million people, access to clean water means access to better health, stronger community, jobs, education, and most of all: hope. Together, we can transform lives and make it possible for an entire country to break from the grips of poverty and flow freely once again. When we toe the start line on November 9th, the miles run will bring safe water closer to people in Burundi. Thank you!
