My Story…
From the age of 15 to 26, my good friend Dana was told her intense period pain was simply something she had to live with. Doctors prescribed painkillers and eventually birth control, but no one ever questioned whether something deeper might be going on. For over a decade, she endured debilitating monthly pain that disrupted school, forced her to cancel plans, miss important events, and at times, left her questioning her ability to keep going.
It wasn’t until January 2018—after more than ten years of suffering—that she was finally told her pain wasn’t normal. By then, it had become a daily struggle, extending far beyond her menstrual cycle. That moment marked the beginning of a long and difficult journey—one that would completely reshape her life.
Now, in 2025, Dana has undergone four surgeries, including a hysterectomy with bilateral salpingectomy for Adenomyosis. Her experience has ignited a deep passion to support others navigating this disease. She’s on a mission to raise awareness around Endometriosis and its common comorbidities like Adenomyosis, and to advocate for the research, education, and community support that are so urgently needed.
With your help, we can push for change, fund critical research, and remind everyone facing these challenges that they are seen, heard, and never alone. Let’s keep moving forward—together.
