My Story…
In November 2024, I was diagnosed with Stage 1 Endometriosis.
It took 11 years. More than a decade of searching, pain medication abuse, ER visits, missing school, work, events, and so much more — but I finally had an answer.
I will never forget waking up from surgery and asking the nurse, “Did they find anything?” She said yes. I couldn’t help the wave of emotions — the validation. It felt like I was finally at the light at the end of the tunnel.
Of course, Endo doesn't end after the surgery. Although prepared, it is inevitably daunting.
After my surgery, I found myself wondering, “Is this how everyone feels?” I couldn’t believe that people just go through their day without pain, cramps, numb legs, and everything else that was my "normal".
It’s hard to accept that I could have felt better sooner. If this condition were more researched, if one of those ER visits had been taken seriously, or if just one doctor had truly believed me.
