My Story…
My son was a bright light — curious, kind, and full of promise. From a young age, he showed a deep sensitivity to the world around him and a fierce loyalty to those he loved. But like so many others, he faced a silent battle with addiction, one that slowly took hold despite moments of hope, recovery, and the unwavering support of his family.
Addiction did not define him. He was a son, a friend, a dreamer with goals and gifts that touched those around him. His laughter was contagious, his presence unforgettable. He fought hard against the weight of substance use disorder, a disease that too often goes misunderstood and untreated. In his early twenties, his life was tragically cut short by an overdose.
His story is not just one of loss — it is a call to action. A reminder of the urgency to treat addiction with compassion and to see the people behind the pain. In his memory, his family now works to raise awareness, fight stigma, and support others walking a similar path. His life mattered. His story continues to speak, through love, advocacy, and a legacy that seeks to save others
