As many of you know my sister Jacki was shot and killed at the 4th of July parade in Highland Park in 2022. My cousins and I were sitting right next to her. I'm riding in her memory and in the memory of all those who continue to die by gunfire every day on Sunday, September 7th from Hubbard Woods in the

I hope activities like these and others in IL and across the country will increase the chance that others will be spared from such tragedies. Losing a cherished loved one or a friend to gun violence and knowing others who are living with emotional and physical trauma due to gun violence is heart breaking. Gun violence not only affects the well-being of those killed or injured but their families, friends, neighbors, and communities too! Jacki should be alive today contributing to society in the many ways she had, loving her family and friends, growing older with all of us.
