On the solemn anniversary of 9/11, our community is coming together to organize a remarkable event – the “San Diego 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb." This event pays tribute to the selfless firefighters who faced unimaginable challenges on that tragic day and celebrates their unwavering commitment to protecting and serving their fellow citizens.

At the forefront of this endeavor is Team Heartland Fire & Rescue, an extraordinary group of firefighters who have volunteered to undertake the daunting task of climbing a series of stairs in remembrance of the 110 floors of the World Trade Center towers. Through their actions, they aim to embody the resilience, courage, and unity that emerged from the ashes of the 9/11 attacks.

The primary objective of this event is twofold. Firstly, we seek to commemorate the lives lost and the heroism displayed by the first responders who rushed into danger, embodying the true spirit of bravery. Secondly, we strive to raise funds for the Firefighter Aid charity, which provides vital support to our local firefighters and their families during times of need.

I am writing to you today with a humble request to extend your generosity and support for Team Heartland Fire & Rescue in their stair climb challenge.
