My Story…

This is my 9th suicide prevention walk, but my first for this organization and in Canada. Suicide prevention is important to me because my community, the 2SLGBTQ+ community, struggles with suicide at a higher rate than our cisgender and straight peers. I have lost amazing people in my community, and I know many more that struggle with their mental health. We deserve to live authentic lives with just as much joy and acceptance as anyone else. Suicide can be prevented with the right services, resources, and research. That’s why I am walking on Saturday, September 6th.
