My Story…
Today, I want to share something deeply personal and important to me. Several years ago, someone I cared about deeply was struggling in silence. Like so many, they felt alone, overwhelmed, and unsure of where to turn. I remember the helplessness I felt, wishing I could do more, say more, be more. Thankfully, they reached out and found support. But not everyone does. Every single day in Canada, 12 people die by suicide. Behind each number is a name, a smile, a story and a family, friend group, and community left with heartbreak and questions. That is why I am walking. That is also why DCGT matters so much. We provide 24/7 crisis support in multiple languages, helping those in emotional distress, including people on the edge of losing hope. We are on the frontlines, we remind people that they are not alone. This walk is more than a fundraiser. It's a space for connection, remembrance, and healing. It's a way to honor those we have lost, support those still struggling, and be together. TY
