My Story…
I am walking alongside Jason, Ellie, Naomi and Will to honour the memory of their beautiful Sam and to stand with them in supporting efforts to end suicide. This cause is deeply personal, and every step we take is for Sam and for the countless other lives touched by this tragedy. In 2022, there were 4,850 suicide deaths in Canada—that’s about 13 lives lost every day. While men account for nearly 75% of these deaths, suicide impacts families of all genders, ages, and backgrounds. For young people, the reality is especially heartbreaking: suicide remains one of the leading causes of death among youth and young adults. Behind each number is a beloved child, sibling, friend, or parent. Together, we can turn grief into action—raising awareness, funding prevention programs, and working toward a future where fewer families know this pain. Please join me in honouring Sam's memory by supporting this walk and helping us make a difference.
