My Story…
The last few years of my life, I have struggled immensely with my mental health. There were times where I felt completely helpless, where I felt I would be better off dead. When you are so deep in that hole, it is hard to see a way out. I waited in ER waiting rooms for hours, and even though I felt consumed by darkness, there was always a part of me that wanted to keep fighting and seek the light in my life. Running has helped me immensely with my mental health because it gives me a goal to work towards. I started from the couch, to running 5ks, and now I am training for a half marathon. Even if you see somebody on the street and they look happy, remember that they could be going through one of the hardest times in their life. Be kind.
