Raise money for Catholic Social Services and WINhouse
La Salle Shelter - Catholic Social Services
La Salle is a second-stage shelter for women and their children who have left domestic abuse and are transitioning from a first-stage shelter to longer-term safe housing. Families are provided with their own self-contained unit. Currently, Catholic Social Services (CSS) has 12 units but is working on replacing the current facility with a new building that will feature 33 self-contained units, providing both second-stage housing and affordable housing. This new building will be located near our existing Lurana shelter (first-stage/emergency shelter) and will be part of a campus model designed for a continuum of services.
Fundraising events play a vital role in helping Catholic Social Services’ Sign of Hope fulfill our mission. They raise critical funds to sustain our programs and services, such as the La Salle Second Stage Women’s Shelter. The Night Light Walk fundraising event, organized by the Royal LePage® Shelter Foundation™, will provide us with an opportunity to raise public awareness and create a powerful platform to engage donors and attract new supporters. We believe that, through their leadership and partnership, our La Salle Women’s Shelter can have a significant and lasting impact on our community, especially as we aim to expand our capacity from 12 to 33 units by 2026. These events also offer meaningful opportunities to recognize and thank those who make our work possible while sharing the real impact of their support through compelling success stories. We eagerly anticipate collaborating with you to uplift and assist women and children as they courageously rebuild their lives throughout this journey.
For over 55 years, WIN House has been a lifeline for individuals and families fleeing violence, providing safety, support, and a path forward. We operate two emergency shelters and a second-stage home. Our second-stage home offers safe, stable housing - designed to serve individuals who have been in Canada for less than two years, have either no status or a high risk of losing their status, and are escaping violent situations. The length of stay is structured in six-month segments, recognizing that each individual's journey is unique. At WIN House, we believe that everyone deserves a chance to thrive in a life free from violence, and having access to transitional housing is an essential part of making that possible.
WIN House is incredibly thankful to partner with the Royal LePage® Shelter Foundation™, a dedicated ally in our mission to support women and children experiencing intimate partner violence. For over 10 years, their unwavering commitment has helped us provide urgently needed resources and hope to those ready to take their first brave steps toward safety. As we join the national 3km walk on October 23rd, we’re proud to stand alongside Royal LePage® to honour those who are fleeing violence, raise critical funds, and shine a light on the path forward. Every step we take together brings our community closer to a future free from violence.
