For the past 18 years, I’ve had the privilege of working in Women’s Shelters, supporting thousands of women and children as they escape extremely abusive situations. Many arrive with nothing more than the clothes on their backs, seeking safety and a fresh start. Shelters provide more than just a safe place—they offer essential services and programming such income and housing support, emotional and psychological care, as well as nursing supports. I currently provide nursing care at LaSalle Women's Shelter, where I see firsthand the life-changing impact of these services. That’s why I’m proud to participate in The Night Light Walk in support of LaSalle. Fundraisers like this are vital to ensuring that women and children in crisis continue to receive the help they need and deserve.
