Volunteer for this event
Volunteer details
Volunteer Positions
Marshalls 8:30-12:00:
Thank you for helping direct the runners! You will be responsible for making sure the runners stick to the course. I will drop by each station and make sure you know the exact route to direct the runners. Please clap and cheer for each runner! The enthusiasm can really help them along :)
If there is an intersection or possible "wrong turn" choices, you will be in charge of making sure all of the runners follow the course according to their bibs (5k, 10k, and Half Marathon courses)
Aid Station 9:00-12:00:
Please fill the table with pre-poured cups. One volunteer will then stand with their arms outstretched holding cups of Water, the other will hold cups of electrolyte. When the runners come by, you will shout "Water" or "Electrolyte" and if they reach for your cup, pass it to them. They will then throw the cup on the ground a short distance away.
Please sweep up the cups and toss in the recycling when you have a chance. Here's a video of how the runners will grab the cups: video
Registration/Post Race food & drink 7:45-12:00:
You will be helping to hand out bibs and shirts at the beginning of the race. You will have a spreadsheet of all of the runners - as they come to sign in, cross their name off the list and find the corresponding numbered bib. If they have pre-ordered a shirt, cross off the size of their shirt and then find one in the box that corresponds.
If a runner wants to pick up their shirt after the race, don't cross off their size until they pick up their shirt.
Once registration has ended and the runners are off, you will help with packing up the registration desk and switching to setting up the post-race snacks and drinks.
Parking/Medals 8:00-12:00:
You will be directing drivers when parking lots are full to go to the next available lot. Once the race has started, you will join us at the start/finish line and hand out medals to the finishers.
Lead Bike 8:30-12:00:
We are looking for three lead bikes to ride ahead of the 5k, 10k, and Half Marathon groups. The Half Marathon has a bit of gravel, so a gravel bike/mountain bike is ideal. You job will be to make sure that the pathway is clear and announce to any pedestrians that a runner is coming through. You are the last line of defense against any mis-placed race directions, so make sure you've studied the course map well!
For reference, in terms of speed we are expecting the top runners to finish around:
5k: 15:00
10k: 35:00
Half Marathon: 1:15
THANK YOU!
