Dear friends,

I’m running the Run for Refugees 5K in Irving, TX to raise funds for Ma’ruf Dallas, a nonprofit doing remarkable, life-changing work in our community.

What Ma’ruf Dallas does:

They help newly arrived refugees and vulnerable families achieve self-sufficiency, offering job training, resume support, and job placement assistance. 

They provide rental, utility, and food assistance, helping people stay housed and fed in times of crisis. 

Their food programs deliver culturally appropriate groceries, halal protein, fresh produce, and essential staples—through drive-thru pantries, mobile distributions, and emergency relief. 

They also run initiatives like a “car program” and bicycle program to improve mobility, plus training and certification programs to boost long-term stability. 

More than just aid, Ma’ruf Dallas is grounded in dignity, respect, and justice—they aim to restore agency, not dependence. 

Why your support matters
Refugees arriving here often come with trauma, language barriers, and few resources. Ma’ruf Dallas helps bridge that gap—not with handouts, but with opportunity, empathy, and stability.
