A 5K Run and Walk-a-thon to raise money for students and artists.
Date: Sunday, August 17, 2025
Location: Chinguacousy Park, 9050 Bramalea Rd, Brampton, ON (at Queen St. / Central Park Dr.)
Race Start Time: 9:00 AM
All those who complete the walk/run will receive a t-shirt and access to the post-race BBQ.
*Please note: only participants who complete the run will receive a finisher's medal.

Race Kit Pick-up information:
Race kits (including bibs and more) can be picked up at the Running Room, 3065 Bloor Street W, Etobicoke, on:
• Friday, August 15 – 12 PM to 4 PM
• Saturday, August 16 – 10 AM to 2 PM
*If you choose to pick up your kit on race day, it must be done at Chinguacousy Park between 7:30 AM and 8:30 AM only.
About Friends of Fortis:
Friends of Fortis is committed to the welfare and well-being of students, primarily those seeking access to post-secondary institutions, entering the trades or developing their craft in the arts. The organization provides free dental care and nutritious meals to students who qualify for assistance. Friends of Fortis meet those objectives through fundraising efforts such as the upcoming Friends of Fortis 5K Walk/Run. The event is a joint effort we coordinate in partnership with dance Immersion.
While our primary focus is on youth, we recognize the need to create alliances in the broader community. To that end, we have invited like-minded community organizations to partner with us in our effort to foster advancement in education and skills training and invite you to join us at the Friends of Fortis 5K Walk/Run, Sunday, August 17!

dance Immersion is a charitable non-profit organization established by Vivine Scarlett in 1994 to produce, promote, and support dancers and dances of the African Diaspora*.
Our award-winning programs offer presentation, artistic skill development, and networking opportunities for Black artists, serving those who practice contemporary and traditional movement forms from Africa, the Caribbean, North America, South America, and Europe.
