Our daughter Marlee passed in utero at nearly 38 weeks gestation on Christmas Day 2022. From the moment we found out that her heartbeat was gone, this amazing organization, Rachel’s Gift, stepped in and brought light into the darkest moment of our lives.

Rachel’s Gift trains hospital staff on how to care for grieving parents walking through miscarriage, stillbirth, and infant loss. They offer support groups, counseling, and an abundance of resources for parents from the very beginning and for as long as they need. Moments after we received the devastating news, we were handed a box from Rachel’s Gift filled with thoughtful and priceless resources that helped us begin to navigate the unimaginable road ahead.

So many parents have no idea what choices and options are available to them in the hours and days after hearing that their baby has passed. Rachel’s Gift meets families right there, in that impossible moment, and offers compassion, guidance, and hope.

The impact Rachel’s Gift is making in hospitals across the country is immeasurable. For us, it meant that in the midst of heartbreak, we did not feel alone. Their presence, support, and care will forever be part of Marlee’s story  and our family’s healing.
