I’m running this 5K to raise $1,000 in support of Young Community Developers (YCD), a San Francisco–based nonprofit dedicated to empowering residents of Southeast San Francisco through workforce development, education, and community services. YCD has been an incredible partner to MelanInScience, helping us create pathways for underrepresented students and young professionals to explore careers in STEM — from biotech industry to hands-on learning experiences. Every contribution helps fund programs, resources, and opportunities that break down barriers and open doors for the SF Bay Area community.
