My Story…
On September 27th, I'm participating in the Run for Palestine. While a 5k seems small in comparison, I'm doing it to raise funds for the people of Palestine who have endured immense suffering and a level of destruction that is nearly incomprehensible.
The statistics are devastating. According to reports from the UN and Human Rights Watch, at least 92% of buildings in Gaza have been destroyed or damaged, rendering much of the area uninhabitable. The scale of civilian loss is staggering: over 63,000 Palestinians have been killed, including more than 20,000 children, with over 160,000 injured.
Credible organizations have provided compelling evidence of the deliberate targeting of civilians and the systematic destruction of life in Gaza. UN experts and the CEO of Save the Children have warned that children are being systematically starved to death. In a powerful resolution, the International Association of Genocide Scholars—the world's leading body of experts on the subject—has stated that Israel's actions in Gaza meet the legal definition of genocide.
My family in Gaza continues to live through this horror every day. By supporting my run, you can make a tangible difference in providing critical relief. Thank you for standing with me and with them.
