Package pickup
2- people Friday November 15th from 4-7pm 109st running room
Assign & handout bibs & tshirts/ keepsakes that were purchased. Medals handed out to any virtual runners m.
5k course
Volunteer #1 course Marshall at road crossing for Quesnell bridge/ Talus balls stairs at beginning of 21/10 K then moves to trail (Fort Edmonton riverside trail) entrance for 5k loop start then moves to road crossing (leaving Fort Ed before crossing under the Quesnell) for 5k return route.
2 Volunteers 5k water station - cheer on runners, hand out water & fruit snacks
1 Volunteer on Keillor road return to amenities building. Cheer on runners and point 10k runners towards amenities building & 21k onto 2nd lap.
1 Volunteer prerunner- runs the 5km course before race starts 8:30am start
1-2 Volunteers 5km sweep- walk behind last participant and collect flags. Must stay minimum 300m behind last person.
10/21km
1-2 volunteers pre run the course 10km with 21k extension out & back - must be able to run 11km starts at 8am
1-2 volunteers 10k Sweep- must stay behind last 10k runner, must be able to run/walk 10k
1-2 volunteers 21k sweep - must stay behind last runners, picks up flagging & signs on 2nd loop. Must be able to run/walk 21k
2 Volunteers aid station - rowing club setup table, water jug & snacks, cheer runners
1-2 Volunteer Hawerlak bridge - direct runners to go under the bridge first then over, across & to the right when they come back to you.
1 Volunteer at turn around/ out & back Mackenzie ravine. Cheer runners and direct 21k to the boardwalk & left for the out/ back section. direct 10k runners back on the double wide towards to bridge. *Walk in 1km each way.
1 Volunteer at the end of Keillor road to separate the 10/21s - set up table with water jug.
3-4 volunteers Finish line timing mark down bib numbers & times as they cross the finish line. 10k & 21k only.
1-2 volunteers to replenish Finish line snacks
2 volunteers to hand out Finish line medals. Cheer racers through the finish line and present every finisher with a medal.
