The Famous Grouse Bays Cycle Challenge is a great race around the Bays in Lyttleton Harbour, date to be advised. Starting at McCormacks Bay Reserve, the peleton will be lead out for the first 1.5km and then the lead vehicle will pull away and the racing will begin. This year will see the race go over Evans Pass, through Lyttleton, Governors Bay, Charteris Bay, Diamond Harbour and then return to Teddington, where riders will go over Gebbies Pass through to Tai Tapu and then Finish outside the Famous Grouse Hotel in Lincoln.

The Famous Grouse Bays Cycle Challenge will see the peloton leave McCormacks Bay Reserve, with the peleton led out for the first 1.5km until the lights outside New World Redwood. Here the lead vehicle will pull away and the racing will begin.
With the King and Queen of the Pass decided at the top of Evans Pass the pace will be on from the start. After Evans Pass riders will make their way into Lyttleton and on through to. Governors Bay, Charteris Bay, Diamond Harbour turning at the NPD. Then returning to Teddington, where you will go over Gebbies Pass through to Tai Tapu and on to Lincoln. The finish is outside the Famous Grouse Hotel.
With passing through all the bays in Lyttleton Harbour there will be a few challenges throughout and make for some great racing especially through all the age groups. Plus the ride will give all the weekend warriors some fun racing, racing their mates and heaps of bragging rights afterwards at The Famous Grouse Hotel.
The race has an elevation of 1398 metres over the 70km.
