🚁 Canterbury Westpac Air Rescue Helicopter Back to Base Virtual Challenge 🚁
Westpac rely on 6 Million Dollars of funding a year to provide critical care and a lifesaving service to our community.
In 2009 I fractured my spine in a riding accident. I was immobilised in a vacuum mattress and flown from Timaru to Christchurch by an incredible team, to undergo surgery to fuse my vertebrae with screws and rods, helping me live a normal life.
For the month of August I be will walking/running 155km to raise money to support the training and equipment needed on every rescue in our region.
155km is the distance it takes the helicopter to travel from Timaru to Christchurch back to base.
I welcome anyone to join me out on the pavement 🚶🏻♀️
