My Story…
For those of you that haven’t had to hear me talk about running or got wrangled into a race with me, here is a bit about my running journey!
I got into running when I was in high school because it was the only sport I was kind of good at (didn’t really have hand eye coordination for the other stuff).
Overtime it became fun (Stockholm syndrome) because even though I was competing with others I was also competing with myself and was happy if I accomplished my own goals like a faster time. I hate not being perfect and so being happy to run knowing I’m not the best is an accomplishment!
In residency, I was my heaviest weight and climbing stairs for rounds was so tough I wanted to ask my COPD patients to share their oxygen! I started running again. I started doing 5ks and then 10ks and now my first half marathon!
I’ve met amazing people through my run club that has motivated and inspired me to do this.
