My Story…
My Story
Running has always been more than just exercise for me. It’s something that clears my mind, lifts my mood, and reminds me that even when things feel difficult, I can keep moving forward. Taking care of our bodies is deeply connected to taking care of our minds, and running has been a way for me to do both. That’s why I joined Christian’s team for the BMO Half Marathon to support CMHA Vancouver-Fraser and help bring awareness to mental health.
Last year, I volunteered at the race, handing out water to the runners, and watched my friend Christian push himself for this cause. Seeing his dedication and the incredible energy of the event inspired me to take on this challenge myself. I know firsthand how much movement and setting goals can improve both mental and physical well-being, and I want to be part of something that encourages others to take care of themselves too.
Mental health affects all of us, yet it’s often stigmatized or overlooked. By running and fundraising for CMHA-VF, I hope to help break down those barriers and support the vital programs that make a difference in people’s lives. Every step we take and every dollar we raise can help build a stronger, more resilient community.
