Raise money for Homeless Children's Education Fund
The mission of Homeless Children's Education Fund (HCEF) is to advance the education of children and youth experiencing homelessness, guiding them to be empowered and productive citizens.
Allegheny County has over 3,122 students experiencing homelessness in 2023. Thirty percent of these students live in shelters, while the other 70% live in cars, hotels, or are doubled up with friends and family. These youth are four times more likely to show delayed development than their peers, twice as likely to have learning disabilities, and struggle to cultivate positive relationships.
At HCEF, we work with students of all ages to help them succeed. We believe that all people have intrinsic value, unique gifts, and are deserving of respect. Our staff provides financial, educational, and emotional support. We foster connections with these youth and create opportunities to chart a positive course.
As an HCEF runner, YOU directly help youth become their best selves. Every dollar you raise is invested into a future of promise and hope. Thank you!
