My Story…
This will be my first marathon. Like most people, I used to hate running and thought signing up to run was even crazier. But everyone kept telling me it would all be worth it on race day. Let's see about that!
I'm so excited to participate in such an incredible day; and, to make this marathon even more memorable, I decided to help fundraise for the Homeless Children's Education Fund (HCEF). Here's a nice 2024 video to learn more about them.
Even though I don't live in Pennsylvania anymore, I graduated from Penn State University (WE ARE!). I am also originally from Puerto Rico, where I would volunteer in an after-school program for public school children on the island. I wanted to help an organization that aligned with my past and future values, to help children through educational programs and vital resources. The kids are our future, and I hope this helps them reach their future goals in life.
As an additional bonus, for every person who donates, I'll give them a big shoutout on race day via social media @natruizperez . Any amount helps. ¡Muchas gracias!
