My Story…
2023 was a year of extensive chronic pain that finally culminated in back surgery for a pinched nerve in my lower back. A December surgery and several months of physical therapy was immensely successful, and now I'm motivated to run in my first marathon ever as a way of taking back the year I lost. Before my marathon training began I had never run more than a 10K, so it has already been exciting to reach new milestones (10 miles, half marathon) in my training regimen.
I have been familiar with the work of Open Hand ministries for a very long time and know many of the people who have worked and volunteered with the program. They are making an important different in our local Pittsburgh community in trying to end generational poverty. Please consider supporting them and my racing of the Pittsburgh marathon!
