My Story…
I’m running a half marathon to raise money for Pittsburgh’s ARYSE (Alliance for Refugee Youth Support and Education) because I believe in supporting refugee and immigrant communities, especially in light of everything happening in our country right now. As a retired collegiate athlete, I’ve been looking for something to push myself physically again, and this race gives me the perfect opportunity—not just to train for a big challenge, but to do it for a cause that truly matters. ARYSE helps refugee youth build a future here, and every mile I run is in support of that mission. Please consider donating :) Thank you!
Description
This year, our goal is to raise at least $30,000 through the marathon campaign, which will cover the essential expenses for our program like student transportation, interpretation and translation services, hot meals, and personnel. Thanks to donations from hundreds of individuals and local foundations, the program is completely free of cost to participants. Support from our marathon runners and their networks will help us keep it that way.
