My Story…
I got into running while a student of viola at the Curtis Institute of Music. At first, I could not make it around a four-block radius of Rittenhouse Square in Philadelphia. My running improved over the years, and I ran two half marathons in Pittsburgh! I am also an avid cyclist, enjoying road and mountain biking alike. In 2023, I attempted my first Dirty Dozen race in Pittsburgh, and finished the whole course, but because I put my foot down on one hill, I did not officially finish the race, so another attempt is the goal!
During my time playing with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra as Principal Viola player, I raised a daughter and twin boys, founded a string quartet, the Clarion Quartet, playing the works of suppressed composers, and taught orchestral repertoire at Carnegie Mellon University, while continuing solo and chamber music performances internationally.
